Job Creators Network Signs Amicus Brief Calling on Appeals Court to Strike Down Corporate Transparency Act

Today, Job Creators Network filed an amicus brief calling on the U.S. Court of Appeals to strike down the Corporate Transparency Act, which a district court recently ruled unconstitutional. Read the amicus brief here

Alfredo Ortiz, CEO of Job Creators Network, released the following statement:

“The Corporate Transparency Act is another burdensome federal mandate on small businesses. Even though most small businesses have never heard of it, the law carries massive financial penalties and even jail time for noncompliance. As JCN argues in its amicus brief, the CTA violates the Fourth Amendment because it gives the government sweeping powers to collect sensitive, personal information of millions of American small business owners. The federal government doesn’t have the authority to collect this data, making the CTA the latest example of federal overreach under the Biden administration. The appeals court should uphold the district court’s ruling and strike down this illegal law, freeing American small businesses from its mandates.”
